Mixmax has a ton of other cool features, but these three top the list for me! It also comes with a free plan that allows you to test out some of its capabilities (You can get started right here).

It also implements a bit of machine learning here as it attempts to suggest the best time to send an email to a particular recipient based on when previous emails from you were opened. Thankfully, Mixmax allows you to schedule emails using its “Send Later” feature. I get some of my best work done very late at night However, this can quickly be taken the wrong way by colleagues and it is generally poor email etiquette to drop emails in people’s inboxes at odd hours. This sounds like a relatively trivial point, but I have found it saves me a lot of time with having to read through a template to make sure I have not missed any variable that should have been changed. However, even though mixmax only auto-fills out variables like “First Name”, “Last Name”, “Email” etc, you are able to create what I like to call “placeholders” which are clearly visible and can be easily targeted/highlighted with a single mouse-click. This is a pretty common feature especially if you’ve worked with newsletter platforms like Mailchimp. Mixmax allows me the flexibility of using variables within my templates. This way, as long as I have named my templates properly, it is super easy to retrieve using keywords. My templates are accessible via keyboard shortcuts.

With this, I stopped switching between windows or apps to make use of certain features, and began to save a lot of time and improve my general workflow. Mixmax seamlessly integrates with my Gmail inbox. I had attempted to use the “canned responses” feature within Gmail, but that didn’t really catch on. This is a key feature for me as one of my responsibilities at MEST is making sure any incoming hire spends as little time as possible within our hiring funnel. However, where I believe the added advantage comes in with Mixmax, is that you can do this on any co-worker’s calendar as well, even going as far as automatically adding the event to their calendar.

Mixmax also comes with a “meeting template” feature which gives you the ability to block out periods on your calendar where you are available to take meetings( just like with most calendar/meeting booking software out there). One thing I love the most about this is how seamlessly it is integrated, even featuring some really nifty keyboard shortcuts.
